Aurora

Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. Born in Stavanger on June 15th, 1996. Her professional name is Aurora. The name of her can be spelled in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. The artist has already recorded two highly-profile cover songs Half the World Away by the group Oasis to promote a Christmas ad by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. She gained some further recognition from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering an instrument hidden in her attic then becoming enthralled by the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music for development of her own, not for the purpose of making a living or an interest. They advised her to compose. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an appreciation for the style of Bjork. Her mother was supportive of her performing her music in front of the public, but not to gain fame but rather in order to show others that they matter and how they can make a difference for the world. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument when she was six, and she started writing music when she turned nine. The family did not know until the age of fourteen. Aurora's success was never her dream. Aurora claims she loves composing songs. For her, the music she composes is how she feels about any thing.
